This week was long and crazy! But I only have time for the main highlights! Ahhhh! Hey, good job on all that missionary work! You guys are awesome!! Seriously, thanks for being such a good example, you give me things that I can share with others on how they can share the gospel.
I didn't understand anything
My week was hectic. One of the highlights was that I went on a trade-off with one of our district leaders, Elder Bryce, who is serving in the Cantonese branch (Chinese). So our trade-off was awesome! In the two lessons we taught, I didn't understand anything:). But it was really good for Elder Bryce to not be able to rely on a native speaker to teach.

Guess where I got to go?
One fun thing about my trade-off was that Elder Bryce and the Cantonese branch cover both the north and south missions. So guess where I got to go?? SYDNEY! MAN! It was soooo cool! (Pictures included) I didn't get to see the opera house, but as shown below I saw the Harbour Bridge from afar. I also saw how crazy central Sydney is. Man! Far out! I would love to be a missionary there for one day, then after that it would be too much! There are soooooo many people.
While in the city, we got soaked! We walked around in a thunder storm for an hour and a half. Hahaha it was great! The only downside was that my planner and pass-along cards and white handbook all got soaked. But all is well!

We set a baptismal date with Zh*ng!
We had some good teaching appointments. I also went on a trade off with Elder Abquina. And while on that trade-off, we set a baptismal date with Zh*ng! Woohoo! So his date is the 24th of January. Hopefully I will still be here for it! We will see.
While I was with Elder Bryce, Elder Bartholomew had an awesome lesson with J*co and S*rina M_. They are progressing really well. S*rina should be coming to church next week (with the help of fellowship and ward members). P*rlita and Oc*an didn't come this week because their dad slept in *face palm*, but they are committed to come next week.
Man this week is gonna be awesome! we have lots of set appointments and whatnot! It should be great!
Oh, and we ran into A_, the phone call dude, this week on the streets. Hahahaa! He was surprised to see us. He then told us that he was pretty drunk when we happened to call last week, and that I "took it like a man"... Yadda yadda yadda. Hahahaaha how funny!
(Note: we didn't post it on the blog, but this man A_ had verbally abused Jarrad on the phone for about 45 minutes, leaving Jarrad emotionally spent. But it also gave Jarrad a sweet opportunity to feel the Savior's love.)
Okay! That's pretty much the week! I will continue to send pics, and will go until I write Pres. Back. Have a great week Guys!
Love,
Elder Larsen

Thank you for posting Elder Larsen's letters. My son is Elder Bartholomew. I am not sure how I found your blog, but I have enjoyed reading of the experiences they are having as they work together in serving the Lord. The pictures are wonderful. We enjoy seeing pictures taken by other missionaries. I appreciate the wonderful son you have raised and for the companion he is to my
ReplyDeleteson. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful Christmas.
Hey that is super cool! Elder Larsen loves serving with Elder "B"! Sounds like your son is very talented in many ways. We appreciate his influence also on our boy. It will be interesting to see how transfers go. Jarrad hints that he thinks he may not be there for long, which would be sad...
