Elder Larsen's email time was limited today, but we have a copy of his letter to his mission president and we received a nice surprise from a member of his ward below.  Hope you enjoy!

Here is the surprise email we received yesterday:

"Hello Larsen family.  I think your son and his companion are about to rob us! We thought you'd like this pic! Elder Larsen is great. Thank you for your support!

Elders Larsen and Wulf apparently trying to "rob" the good church members of Liverpool, NSW

"Yes they are at the house visiting my husband... We had Elder Larsen and his companion and 2 other elders over for lunch once and Elder Larsen was the first one who volunteered to help clean up. I told him I could tell he comes from a big family - lots of practice! Thanks for teaching him well! Have a great night :)"

Letter to Mission President

(Parent note: Jarrad will be getting his third mission president in 8 months this week as President and Sister Back arrive this week.  Jarrad loves the Lews, who returned for medical reasons.  He loves the Palmers too, who have been on temporary assignment.  The letter below is his last letter to President Palmer.)

"Dear President Palmer,

"These past couple months that you and Sister Palmer have been here have flown by. And I want to thank you for all that you have done for all of the missionaries in our mission, particularly our zone. You have truly inspired my service, and none of us missionaries will forget what you have done once President Back arrives this Saturday.

"If you look at page 90 of the May 2014 Ensign, you will see my mission president and his wife!
President and Sister Palmer."

"My family is doing great. Last week in my email I asked them to send a picture of them in missionary attire. And they made missionary badges and everything and took nice family photos. It was awesome! They are continuing to do missionary work and are hyper-aware of missionary opportunities.

"Our area is doing well. Just over the past week we have witnessed miracles. We have found a few opportunities to work more with the members, and have found people to teach as a result of that. And that will continue to be our main focus. We know that as we talk to everyone and open our mouths that the Lord will prepare referrals for us. He will (and has already) place those that are prepared in our path, so that they can receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

"Yesterday, I had the opportunity to confer the Aaronic Priesthood upon B_ and ordain him to the office of a Priest. That was awesome! Such an incredible opportunity to exercise priesthood authority, and to feel the Spirit work through me. What a blessing the Priesthood is!

"My companion is the man! We have really been working well together this week. We seem to be teaching in unity. I think that we have really come to trust one another.

"My testimony continues to grow. I think that as I have more experiences where the Spirit testifies of truth, my foundation becomes more and more immovable. A few years back, when I was in Young Men's, the Mutual theme emphasized the importance of being Steadfast and Immovable, always abounding in good works. I think that as I do so, I will have the capacity to endure to the end.

"I enjoy when I am able to recognize instances where I receive personal revelation. One such instance occurred this week in my studies. I decided to study the Fundamental "The Role of the Holy Ghost in Conversion", which led me to study the chapter in PMG about Recognizing the Spirit. One thing that I studied was the chart where it has all of the different roles of the Spirit, and how it works. One of them references John 14:26 and says that the Holy Ghost brings things to remembrance. Right after I read that, I turned the page to study "The Prayer of Faith".

"When I studied the first couple paragraphs, I suddenly remembered what my zone leaders when I served in Canberra taught. They taught of the importance of Prayers of Faith. Then they invited the members of the zone to call one another just before they enter a lesson to ask them to pray for them. When we were doing that, we saw many miracles. And I think that this is something that at least myself and my companion can start doing, even if we don't ask the rest of the zone to do so. It was neat to read about how the Spirit works to bring things to remembrance and then to experience it myself! What a testimony builder!
